- Are You Feeling Loved Today? -
"13 Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow."
- Jeremiah 31:13
"23 Love the Lord, all you his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. 24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!"
- Psalm 31:23- 24.
20 The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
- Psalm 145:20
Every song that we sang this morning was about God's love. His Word went forth telling us that He loved us. We were asked to raise our hands and let God pour His love over us. What a confirmation of today's sermon about God's love! Because of His everlasting love, God puts up with me; He has saved me; He has provided everlasting life because of His everlasting love.
"16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
- John 3:16
"13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you."
- John 15:13-15.
It mystifies me to see so many people walking around feeling unloved and depressed when this great love has been offered to them. There are so many who seem desensitized; they neither feel loved nor do they feel love for others.
"10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved."
- Matthew 24: 10-13
The Bible says that nothing can separate me from the love of God. Romans 8:35-39, "35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." There is only one thing that can separate me from God's love; it is my rejection of God's love.
If there is such a basic instinct as self-preservation, it seems that people would run like wild to accept God's love. For in so doing they would preserve their lives for eternity. Run to God that He might preserve you!
Let us continue to pray for each other as we continue this journey. Sometimes it is a struggle. Let us love one another and show God's love to others. Make an effort not to become cold or insensitive to those around you who need a token of love today. The Lord loves you with an everlasting love; He preserves the faithful. You will never find a greater love. Receive it and reciprocate it today!
